BEC Adds Yankees Defensive Coordinator Aaron Gershenfeld to Speaker Series

CAMBRIDGE - Baseball Ontario is proud to announce the next guest speaker for the 2024 Best Ever Coaches Clinic, New York Yankees Defensive Coordinator, Aaron Gershenfeld.

Aaron Gershenfeld enters his 5th season in the New York Yankees organization as the Defensive Coordinator. In this role, he oversees the defensive development for all Catchers, Infielders, and Outfielders in the New York Yankees Farm System. Under Gershenfeld's leadership, the Yankee's farm system has ranked at the top of professional baseball in Total Defensive Runs Prevented. Prior to being named the Defensive Coordinator in 2022, Gershenfeld was the Catching Coordinator for the Yankees, overseeing the catcher's development in the Yankees farm system. Since 2021, the Yankees MiLB catchers have developed & produced at high rates, ranking as the #1 Receiving Organization (R-AAA), with multiple catchers translating their success to the Major League level.

Prior to joining the Yankees organization, Gershenfeld served as an assistant coach at The Citadel, East Tennessee State University & Vanderbilt University. Prior to beginning his coaching career, Gershenfeld played at the University of Louisville and was a part of two CWS teams. Gershenfeld currently lives in Tampa, FL with his fiancé Melanie.
