Brittany Chan exemplifies the leadership, dedication, and excellence that define The Lionel Ruhr Coach of the Year Award. In 2025, she led Team Ontario’s 16U Female Baseball team to a gold medal at the inaugural Female Baseball Canada Games tournament in St. John’s, Newfoundland — a landmark achievement in the growth and recognition of female baseball across the country.  During the winter and summer she worked with several teams of female baseball players providing them fielding and hitting instruction while still finding time to play for the Ontario Women's Provincial team which won a bronze medal.

Brittany’s leadership extends far beyond the dugout. She has been deeply committed to her own professional development as a coach, having achieved Competition Development (Comp Dev) Trained status within Baseball Canada’s National Coaching Certification Program.
