Not Just a Game

Baseball has always been part of who we are. And these past few weeks reminded us just how deep that love runs. Our beloved Blue Jays, the World Series, Game 7— it wasn’t “just a game.” It never is.

Across the country, people moved with a little more energy, a little more excitement. Everywhere you looked, you saw Jays hats, t-shirts, hoodies and jerseys. Total strangers exchanged a cheerful “Go Jays!” in grocery aisles and parking lots. Sparks of conversation would start over game highlights, lineup debates, or memories of ’92 and ’93.

People smiled. We waited in anticipation. Together.

Families, friends, neighbours, and entire communities gathered to watch. We had something no other MLB team has ever experienced: an entire country cheering for one team. How special is that?

No, it’s not just a game.

Now let’s talk about this team—our 2025 Jays. Talented? Absolutely. Some of the best players in the league. But their skill wasn’t what made them unforgettable.

It was who they were.

The way they lifted each other up, the calm under pressure, the heart on full display every game. They were serious competitors, but they also had fun. What an incredible example for young athletes: a team that can fight hard, stay united, and still love every minute they’re on the field.

It was amazing to watch.

Our hearts broke for them in the end—not because they lost, but because they gave us something so meaningful. We hope they know how much this country loved every second of the ride.

To the Toronto Blue Jays:
Canada is proud of you.
Thank you for uniting a nation once again. Thank you for the thrills, the memories, and the joy you brought from coast to coast.

It was one incredible journey.
And we can’t wait for the next one.
