OBA Celebrates Record Turnout at Royal York Girls Umpire Camp

The Ontario Baseball Association (OBA) is proud to celebrate the outstanding success of the Royal York Girls Umpire Camp, which saw an incredible turnout and growing momentum for women in officiating across the province.
A total of 44 pre-registered participants, along with 4 walk-ins, brought the camp to an impressive 48 female umpires in attendance. Including instructors, the event welcomed 50 women on the field — a powerful and inspiring milestone for the continued growth of female participation in baseball umpiring.
The camp delivered a high-energy and engaging experience, with participants showcasing enthusiasm, skill development, and a strong commitment to the game. Attendees received valuable information on future opportunities within Ontario, including pathways through the OBA Women’s Umpire Network, mentorship calls, the Ontario Women’s Invitational (OMG Tournament), and the Ontario Summer Games.
Feedback from both participants and attending families was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the importance of accessible, inclusive programming and the impact of creating dedicated spaces for women in baseball.
The Ontario Baseball Association remains committed to growing the game and providing meaningful opportunities for women and girls at all levels.
