Windsor Selects Capture Back-To-Back Gold at 22U National Championship

TECUMSEH, ON – Baseball Ontario is proud to congratulate the Windsor Selects on capturing the 2026 22U National Championship, successfully defending their national title on home soil in Ontario.

Representing Ontario 2, the Selects defeated the Carillon Sultans of Manitoba 5–0 in Sunday’s gold-medal game at Bert Lacasse Park, completing a resilient tournament run and earning their second consecutive national championship.

Windsor’s road to gold was anything but easy, with all five of its round-robin games decided by just one run.

The Selects opened the tournament with a 3–2 victory over the Halifax Mets (Nova Scotia 2) before earning a thrilling 10–9 win over fellow Ontario representative, the Sarnia Brigade (Ontario 1).

Windsor then suffered a narrow 7–6 loss to Carillon before responding with a 3–2 victory over the host Tecumseh Thunder. The close games continued Saturday as Windsor fell 12–11 to the Dartmouth Renegades (Nova Scotia 1).

Despite the two losses, Windsor’s 3–2 record earned the Selects a spot in the gold-medal game and a rematch with Carillon.

With the national championship on the line, Windsor delivered its strongest performance of the tournament.

The Selects shut out the Sultans 5–0 to capture the gold medal and officially become back-to-back 22U National Champions.

The victory continues an impressive run for the Windsor program, which also captured gold at the 2025 championship in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Windsor defeated the host Halifax Mets 2–0 in that final, powered by a complete-game, two-hit performance from Brady Knelsen.

The Ontario Baseball Association congratulates the Windsor Selects players, coaches, staff and supporters on another outstanding national championship performance.
